WINNER – REIQ buyer’s agent of the Year 2020
Your Property Hound is excited to announce that our founder and principal, Matt Reeves has been awarded Buyers Agent of the Year by the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) for 2020. The winner was announced at the REIQ Awards for Excellence gala dinner earlier this month.
Your Property Hound was also a finalist in the Buyers Agency of the Year category.
Established in 1918, the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) is the State’s leading industry body for the real estate profession. Each year the REIQ hosts its Awards for Excellence programme to recognise the foremost agencies and agents in industry. Nominations are sought from 1,600 member agencies and around 4,000 individual members.
REIQ Awards for excellence are offered in the following categories:
- Auctioneer of the Year
- Best Media Report
- Business Broker of the Year
- Business Development Manager of the Year (Property Management office)
- Buyers Agency of the Year
- Buyers Agent of the Year
- Commercial Agency of the Year
- Commercial Property Manager of the Year
- Commercial Salesperson of the Year
- Community Service Award
- Corporate Support Person of the Year
- Innovation Award
- Large Residential Agency of the Year
- Medium Residential Agency of the Year
- Regional Residential Agency of the Year
- Regional Salesperson of the Year
- Residential Property Manager of the Year
- Residential Salesperson of the Year
- Small Residential Agency of the Year
Nominees for the REIQ Buyers Agent of the Year Award are asked to demonstrate a broad range of skills and achievements including:
- Their ability to deliver exceptional service to their clients
- How they have overcome challenges in their business
- Use of innovation and technology
- Risk management procedures
- Leadership skills in their agency, industry and wider community
Based on these criteria, the nominees are short-listed, and a group of finalists are announced. An independent panel interviews each finalist to determine an overall winner in each category.

Matt Reeves founded Your Property Hound Buyer’s Agency in 2012. Since this time and he has purchased more than $100million of residential estate in the Brisbane Region. He is a member of the REIQ and Real Estate Buyers Agent Association (REBAA.).
