Wynnum is a southern, bayside suburb located 18km East of the Brisbane CBD.  Wynnum is bordered by the suburbs of Manly, Wynnum West, and Lytton.

The population of Wynnum in 2016 was around 12,924 and continues to grow. 60.2% of households in Wynnum are owner occupied and consistent predominantly of professional couples with children.

Shopping

Wynnum’s main shopping precinct is located close to Wynnum Central Train Station.

Transport

Wynnum has good public transport links to the city via the Cleveland railway line. There are 3 train stations in the area: Wynnum North railway station, Wynnum railway station and Wynnum Central railway station.

Schools

The area is home to a number of excellent private and public schools including Iona College, Moreton Bay College, Wynnum State School, Wynnum State High School

Parks and Green spaces

The Wynnum foreshore is home to Pandanus Beach, the Wynnum Jetty and the heritage-listed Wynnum wading pool.  It is a very popular spot for swimming and weekend picnics

The Wynnum Mangrove Boardwalk is another popular spot for walkers and bird watchers.

Most and least desirable areas

Elevated properties and those with water views are perhaps the most desirable, (and most expensive) parts of Wynnum.

Traffic noise can be an issue for properties close to major thoroughfares including Wynnum Rd, and Preston Rd. Buyers should check the Brisbane City Council Flood Maps, as some areas (especially along the foreshore and Wynnum Creek) are susceptible to flooding (see flood map below).
